Our Mission

The Chittraphone Outama Khampradith Foundation, doing business as the POM Foundation, is a registered 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to preserve, foster, transmit, and educate about Lao arts, culture, and traditions.

We are dedicated to empowering the Lao American community through education, cultural preservation, and community engagement. We strive to break the cycle of socioeconomic barriers by providing targeted programs that uplift youth and strengthen families. Our initiatives foster pride and identity while promoting cultural awareness within the broader society.

Founded on the principles of cultural heritage, education, and community support, we aim to create a brighter, more inclusive future for all.

Our Programs

  1. Lao Summer Camp: Offers children a unique blend of cultural education and creative activities, fostering a sense of pride and identity while equipping them with valuable skills.

  2. Cultural Exchange in Laos: Provides an immersive experience for youth to connect with their heritage, learn about Lao history and culture firsthand, and build lasting relationships with peers in Laos.

  3. Kinnaly Lao Traditional Music and Dance Classes: These classes preserve and teach traditional Lao arts, allowing youth to develop a deep appreciation for their cultural heritage while gaining confidence and artistic skills.

  4. FORTE: Lao Cultural Showcase: An annual event that highlights the talents and achievements of Lao Americans, celebrating their contributions and promoting cultural awareness within the broader community.

  5. Collaboration with Local Community Organizations: Our involvement with A Child’s Notebook, Sabaidee Fest, Lao Heritage Foundation, Health Leadership International, Lao Community Service Center of Washington, Lao Women’s Association of Washington, Wat Mixayaram of Washington, Lao American Writer's Summit, International Lao New Year Festival, Lao National School of Music & Dance strengthens our outreach and support networks, ensuring that we can effectively address the needs of the community.
